We went to Tahoe yesterday for a Renn Faire and for relaxing in general. It was pretty cool, but I'll put it all under
to save your friend pages.
We drove up 50 and as always it was a gorgous drive
Chris and I have both been to Renn faires before, but it'd been ages. So we went to Valhalla in South Shore.
They had Goat Jousting
This is the Black Knight
And the Azure Knight.
And there was a black smith
And someone who was doing pressed coins. His machine looked like a guillatine.
And I don't know why there are always pirates at Renn Faires, but there are. These ones even had a boat!
And a cannon!
And I learned how to card and spin wool, that was pretty cool.
And the best part were these two life sized rocking horses. They weigh 1200 pounds each, and take 1000 hours to build.
And this is me riding one. I swear the damn thing was going to tip over.
And this guy got "caught" trying to steal a barrel of mead.
Then we headed up Hwy 89 to North Shore where our hotel was.
The hotel was nice but the mattress sucked ass. The view, however, made it all worth while.
This was a statue out in the courtyard
It was great fun, and really nice to be out of the valley for a while. Wish we could have done some golfing, but there was some mad flooding in North Shore this winter so none of the courses up there were open yet. *grumble*
