Why Buffy and Obi-wan work

Wow, that's a very well out and interesting. I knew they had a lot in common, but, I guess because I wrote teenage Buffy, I never realized exactly how much (the whole 'death of a parental figure' and 'being cast aside' things). You're so right, though. The Watchers Council and Jedi Council are basically the same thing, even have the similar name (though, at least the Jedi Council has Yoda. Can't say for the WC). *shrug*

You know that you are the only one to leave a comment on the list? At all!?

I didn't even realize how alike they really were until I decided to make the list, sat down, and started writing. And Lady Aeryn had some thoughts on her essay page that hadn't occured to me.

If you read her essay, it really makes you go WHOA!

I mean we all know how Whedon is a HUGE StarWars fan, but I never really realized just HOW MUCH the BtVS world seems to be modeled after StarWars, and the slayers after the Jedi, until I read it.

It was stunning.
