hey, are you still on the internet? i want to gchat with you, but stupid safari won't let you. currently trying to download firefox (have been meaning to for ages anyway) and running into problems that i'm sure you know how to fix.
well, ok, i'll just ask the question: i downloaded the install file, but my mac doesn't know what application to open it with. i keep trying, but don't really know what to pick. do you?
(also, no pressing issue- just read this intry and thought, "man, if deb was around, i'd call her to see what she's doing, this saturday night"... you know: that next step after you've showered and put on a little skirt and the new orange t-shirt from target, and you're sitting around drinking a beer. checking internet, and hanging around with the cat in the kitchen- when you're like "what next?")
off to figure that out, in the night of the slope-ish.
i am about to go to bed... but hmm. did you make sure to download firefox for the mac? because i have done it numerous times with no prob-- oh! it might be the unstuffing process it doesn't know how to do.
what kind of file is it? like, .xxx what are the x's? dmg?
I think it's here too, but less. For example, since I work with mostly men, I feel like I should not dress sexy (not that that's my usual style, anyways, but even more so), lest I be seen as a flake. But I suspect it's exaggerated on the other side, and it's going to make me crazy with rage.
Remind me some time to tell you about the mechitza controversy at ST and how sad I found it.
Rosh Hashana, if you'll have me. :) And then after that, Yom Kippur and Sukkot and Shimini Atzeret... Pretty soon, you're going to kick me out like your bad houseguest.
Gloria Steinem once observed that men get social respect for being old and rich, while women get respected for being young and pretty; therefore, men get more conservative as they get older, while women get more radicalized.
I thought this was a keen insight when I read it about ten years ago, but now I think Steinem is a shrill harridan who must have been on the rag that day. ;-)
