That's seriously sad. We've registered about 6,600 students to vote (as of two days ago) but I think the number is higher now. Last day to register was yesterday. The ASUO (student government) kids actually walked into classes and the teachers were very lenient in giving them 10 minutes to speak about registering to vote. But then again, I live in 'activist utopia' whereas Birmingham is more like 'apathetic suburbia'. My friend James was actually on the UAB campus the other day, campaigning for Satan Nader. I don't know what his deal is. I guess, at least he is being active.
Oh by the way, Edwards was here on campus yesterday! See:
well, there were about 2 other voter registrations going on at uab simultaneously, so i only count the ones we had in front of ullman. not to mention UO has more undergrad students. most people that walked by were already registered. but we have gone through hundreds of campaign stickers (for the R as well as D parties).
Hey Julia! I got your text messages. I haven't seen you in forever. Luisa was over the other day and we were talking about senior prom and soccer and how much we missed all of that and all the people we never see anymore. Yea, it would be good to have lunch sometime. I'm in birmingham occasionally visiting Kariann. I'll call, now that I have your number.

If I had a dime for everytime I saw someone walk away with that feeling...
Also, voter registration is awesome. I get a high for everyone. Especially the people who say it's gonna be their first time voting.
