I’m starting my second week at Benchmark now, and it is pretty awesome. Everyone is really laid back, it’s a small place, and I’ve been fairly included on two projects, instead of just getting busy work. My work is fairly confidential, but I made a big presentation for a potential client, so my work decides if they choose us for the project or not. I’ve done a lot of setting up, the company merged with a hard-core bureaucracy, which has brought a lot of stiffness and paperwork with it. But it’s still been fun…people are nice, I have a big desk, not a lotttt of work-- though when I do, sometimes it’s really busy, with a short deadline. I’ll have to upload some pictures of my desk or something later. But now it’s 8/8:30-5, an hour for lunch whenever I want to take it, leave an hour early every Friday, for $12 an hour.
A lot of people here are interested in Hoagie, so I might bring him in for a half day sometime. He is doing really well, he’s done with the couch and all that. Although I can’t get him used to a harness, for talking him on ‘walks’, or around the office. But he’s been a cuddly 12-ish-pound ball of lap fluff, and I can’t complain.
So now I work until mid-June, and then I think the next week I start classes again, and then they’re done late August. And I don’t start my next co-op until mid/late-September, so I’ll probably come home for once…I had only a week break recently, and just had my folks come up instead, which was lovely.
Yeah…that’s about it. My hair is short again, but longer than it used to be, still black. And also I am dressing nice every day, which is weird…I think I’m a little bit classy now. And at the pet store the other day, I caught myself totally fawning over a Robo Dwarf hamster, and now I want a baby one, so it can grow up with me like our mouse didn’t. Say no to this face:
