Once in high school while I was still working at the hotel, a man got upset with me because his taxi was late. Mind you, this was a cab service he'd called himself from the Yellow Pages in the lobby, and neither I nor anyone else in our employ had any control over the timeliness of their drivers. He got pretty antsy, so I called a friend working in room service and pretended to be negotiating with the cab company. Haha. That's not exactly advice or anything, but your rude bank guy reminded me of it.

Working in customer service jobs it always amazes me how entitled people are and how quick they are to blame us for things. I don't know how people get to be so rude.
