I have one thing to say to the world, and one thing alone.

Please is never redundant.

I am sick to death of the lack of manners (etiquette, decorum, whatever) that prevails in today's society. Be nice to the people around you.  Follow the motto that's served my WoW guild so well since we formed:  Don't be a douche. Seriously.

Alas, neither is "thank you." But they both do seem to be getting less and less common.

Have you ever been to etiquettehell.com? The site forums allow one to "send someone to etiquette hell" if found to be lacking in manners. It helps for me to read them. But yes, I'm with you. "Please", "thank you", "excuse me" are all good words to be used.

A wise woman once said "Respect is earned, courtesy is due."

My response was "Duh." =i)

Gotta be careful with ma'am. Some women get offended with it.

you obviously have never been to Cincinnati... Here, "Please?" is their replacement for "Huh" and "What". I could use fewer pleases here.. ^_^
