My dad forwarded me some examples of mnemonic aid for English-speaking learners of Russian. I find them rather amusing, check it out:
[English Meaning - Russian word/phrase - English mnemonic (sounds very similar to the pronunciation of the Russian phrase)]:

Я помню, как мы в институте переводили английский текст из учебника. Текст назывался 'London's underground', и само собой был про лондонское метро!
А один мальчик перевeл название как "Лондонское подполье" ))

Haha this one was sooo funny. It might be because I like everything with vodka in it :D
I have often heard that the italian word 'vaffanculo' was made up to translate 'fuck you' from hollywood movies keeping it coherent with lips movement. I don't know if that's true, but it could be considering how little sense the word makes :)

Italian swearwords are definitely a topic that I want to master! Too sad I hardly know any, or rather when to use or not to use the ones I know.
