since I have nothing better to do and no one wants to listen... queeninmydreams June 24 2005, 04:32:03 UTC
Once upon a time, there was a cute little baby calf born. He was a red brown, with big floppy ears and soft warm eyes. Soon after he was born, so big mean men came and dragged the newborn calf away from his mother who loved him. He was lead into a small wooden box, with no soft sweet smelling hay for a bed. In the box, there was only room for him to sand up and lay down. He couldn't do anything. He was feed milk that made him sick, and often times the other little calves were sick, and that made him even sicker. He lived like this for afew monthes, then one day, the mean men came back and picked him up since he no longer knew how to walk, and took him to a room where he was killed. That was, by far the best part of his life. The End.

I'm replying. I also wanted to say that this is honestly hard to reply to, because what could we say? And I would think that most of us have read it, but you don't necessarily have to reply to something. Well, here's my reply.

I am trying to start a discussion here. Hello, it seems like a good article to argue over, that or get people to stop thinking I am crazy for not eating veal.

I never eat baby animals. Lamb and veal are out of the question. I feel that eating an animal before it has had a chance to live is wrong. What else is wrong is keeping them in tiny cages. Buy free-range whenever you can. Animals, no matter their purpose, deserve space to live and grow in.

I know, that is exactly how I feel. Everything deserves a chance to live and be happy, and I don't think if anything is living in such conditions it is happy.

Here it is. I'm not a fan of veal--I don't like the taste. But also, you're going off about cows, what about the chickens grown by the KFC corporation. No beaks, no feet, living on razor sharp wire.

Also there is the inhumane slaughter of animals. What's to say about that. That could be considered animal abuse.

I agree with the idea of this, but EVERYONE would have to stop eating every form of beef to change it, putting thousands of people out of work, thus impacting the rest of the economy, sending millions of PEOPLE into starvation, poverty, and even homelessness. I wish it would, but it won't ever change.

My playing Devil's advocate.

not every form of beef, just veal. And this is about veal, not kfc chickens only because i don't have an article on those.
