Or you could post that pic, say you're Thora, Goddess of Thunder, and see how many comic book nerds try contacting you.
But, really, it's not so bad I've had a online dating profile for years, update it every so often, but I haven't really done anything with it. And sometimes it's good for a laugh when some dude who can't type a complete sentence or operate spell check try messaging you. And thing is, you don't have to do anything with it either. There's nothing there that forces you to respond or connect with anyone on there. If, by chance, someone does come across your profile that doesn't creep you out and seems interesting, you can figure out what to do then. Otherwise, look at it as window shopping. Lol
I think mostly I'm in a funk right now, and when I get a little distance from the bff dropping her wedding plan bombshell I'll feel a little more comfortable with the idea--I like the concept! I don't have to talk to anyone I don't want to! I don't ever have to meet them face-to-face if I don't feel comfortable with it!
But yeah, just...not right now. *HUGS* (I also like the 'hide' button to make the creepy ones go away (also why the fuck would i ever be interested in someone i'm 54% not-compatible with?? okcupid ur weird))
Also the only pic I want to upload is one of me lifting a giant hammer with a gleeful crazy face. Which might give the ~wrong idea~You should upload that picture, because I think it sends the BEST MESSAGE EVER and then you will only get messaged by the exact kind of guy you want anyways - the kind of guy who looks at that pic and thinks, "That Chick is Awesome
( ... )
Lolol, HOPEFULLY they'd think "that chick is awesome" and not "that chick enjoys hitting people with hammers oh baby i'm into THAT." Fingers crossed, if I get up the courage to upload it!
Oh bb, anyone who's scared off by your disability is a DICKWAD and you don't want to date them anyway! YOU ARE AWESOME. Also I'm pretty sure OKCupid has a pool boy option, if you answer the right questions ;33

Awww, thank you, bb. I know that logically, but you can't even imagine how unseriously people take me in the romantic light. Flirting is my default setting and The BFF told me once that there is no subtext to my subtext, that I don't know how to be anything but blatant when I flirt. And yet, everyone always chuckles and tells me I am hilarious or so cute/adorable when I flirt with them, and they walk away, and no one ever takes me seriously because their default setting is to not equate 'disabled' with 'sex drive'. It's not even on purpose I am sure, it's just people's brains are literally molded to think that way subconsciously or something, I think. IDEK, but it gets frustrating.
I'm with you on the theme of this post - why is dating so hard?
I think there are many wonderful people in the world and on-line dating is one possible way of meeting them. Give it a go and maybe you'll meet someone who's fun to talk with and makes you laugh. Definitely post that pic!
Ugh ugh ugh ugh. ughhhhhhhh. okay. maybe not...that picture, because i am pretty intense with the crazy eyes. I found a pic of me in the snow wearing my owl hat. hopefulllyyyy that will do. AUGH FUCK IT
