getting ready for the sleet...

Not looking good for tomorrow, but we've got a freezer full of food, plenty of toilet paper and milk so we don't need to run to the store with the rest of the world in anticipation of snowiness....
My wrist is slowly getting better, and I think it will be 100% in another week or so... I'm treating it very carefully until it can turn in all directions without pain. Mostly I'm just puttering around the house doing load after load of laundry, cleaning in the kitchen, and baking (banana bread: I had three at the perfect state for it. New recipe: macadamia nuts and coconut. we'll see how it works out)
I need t work on my script. I want to show up for the next rehearsal with my lines down cold. mind, I couldn't if I had a larger part, but for Duncan it should be a breeze. I've started collecting bits and pieces for wardrobe... community theater never has much budget. They're a good group of folks, though. Many are friends of friends.
I am now fgoing back to immerse myself in Peter Hamilton's Reality Dysfunction series. I'm on book 4 of 6. I'm hooked by the complexity and the concept... Richard has been nagging me to read this for years... he loves the author and the work... and I'm beating my head against the wall begging it to get to the point! I do not recommend this book for Capi. no, no, no. It isn't at all what it sounded like, and it's very swift paced and complex which sounds good... but it also means that the 'scenes' are short, they get through one thing, and then the author moves onsomewhere else. ick. you never get really into the head of any of the characters... and so many of them are just vile.
howsomeever, I'm still hooked on fiding out 'what's next?' so all I can do is bull my way onward.
(and then he'll never get to complain about my insisting he read the Thomas Covenant series again.... ;D)
