So, over the past couple of days, my anti-virus protection has apparently been getting a workout. Lots of emails saying variations on "here's your new password" or "watch out for viruses, click here" and danged if they don't all have attachments that Norton takes exception to

Oh, and the why they are coming up more now? The programmers are getting better at making 'bots (auto searchers) that either guess addresses or look for them by sniffing sent mail (another reason why you NEVER email your SSN or credit card number unless you have a secure email encryption on both ends).
