We have lift off!

Dec 22, 2005 17:30

Today my eldest son, Sean, (yes, the 'crispy critter') graduated from U MD with a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering.
He starts his new job with the Patent Office in three weeks. At an increased level because of his GPA.
and next Friday he will marry his sweetheart, and then go to Disney for his honeymoon.
I'm so proud I could burst!

Congrats to you, him and her for the degree and the wedding.

Sympathy to you for having to sit through a Clark School of Engineering Commencement (I think I sat through 7 of them so far). I wish I had known you would be around here, I would have stopped by to say howdy-do.

Well, I thought about you, but it really wasn't all that bad...Compared to the MIT, and Bostob U, and such that I've had to endure. I was kinda surprised, though at the ... well weird manners exhibited: people in torn jeans, balloons everywhere, interrupting the awards to screech and blowing air horns... they were treating it like a sports event, and IMNSHO it should be considered an academic honor. supposed some of them hadn't had a college graduate in the family before...
