I'm starting to wonder why I started watching Idol this year. Oh, yeah, it came on right before House, and then I needed something to watch before House came on.

I've never seen more high school idiots in the world until this year though, and all over Sanjaya Malakar.

It's really getting to me. I just think how I would feel to turn around and see everyone going on hunger strikes and junk because of *me*. One of my local radio DJs just said he's going to broadcast toothless unless Sanjaya gets voted off. And as for what Simon said...Simon put him there, he deserves what he gets.

There are worse contestants than Sanjaya. I don't love him the best. I want either Jordin, Lakisha, Melinda, Gina, or Blake to win (yes, I have given up on my Chris Sligh lately, but not enough to vote him off before Sanjaya). Sanjaya's a sweet kid. He shouldn't have made it into the top 24. There are those who are Fanjaya's, those who vote for him because they think it's funny...and then there's me who gets pissed off by mean comments I want to piss off the people who made them. I'm starting to grow a little attached to having Sanjaya there every week.

I just looked at DialIdol, and Sanjaya is safe. They could be wrong, he was in the bottom 3 that one time they said he was safe...I think. Or was that the week with the boys and it was just too close to call? J, give it up and eat a burger, there's more pressing issues in the world besides who wins American Idol...like did you know there's a war in Iraq? Stu, if you broadcast toothless, I can change the station as can most of the Inland Empire. Simon...I love you but you put him there, you deserve what you get. Sanjaya, you have fabulous hair, I think you're just a nervous performer when you sing, and I still like you way more than I like Chris Richardson or Haley Scarnato. Yeah, right, like any of you guys will see my LJ. Oh, and Gwen Stefani, you are like my favorite mentor from Idol because while you tried to be nice, you didn't say that everyone was fabulous and I completely respect that. That and you are one of my favorite singers. (Yeah right, she won't read this either.) (Though if Simon and Gwen read my LJ I would totally die of happy.)

But most of this hate towards Sanjaya are from adults that presumably would know that real life is not high school. I can understand being honest, but there's honest, and there's full out mean (that's directed to Mr. I'll-Quit-if-Sanjaya-Wins). It's like get over it. I know I'm ranting over here about something as insignificant as American Idol because people are getting all stupid about something as insignificant as American Idol...

But my heart bleeds for Sanjaya. I can put myself in his shoes. And when I think about who else has gone this season...you could be listening to Alaina or Leslie. Or Sundance or Nick. Really. Even Antonella. Is it such a terrible crime that Sanjaya made it this far? Only to Stephanie Edwards and Sabrina Sloan.
