I have to agree with most of the fics I found on your list - and I'll make sure to check out some of the ones I never read.

I have also adored Lariope's Second Life (a masterpiece in my opinion), Aurette's Caretaker and Love, Carefully Folded which are all very high on my list.

Also, you might want to check Miamadwyn's brilliant story
The Dissolution Law

You have very good taste in fic :) Masterpiece is definitely the right word for "Second Life". I have read A LOT of fic and have rarely been so impressed as I was by that one. My only slight problem was the awfulness of Dumbledore; I certainly don't think he was the praiseworthy hero some people make him out to be, but neither do I think he was terrible and always manipulative/uncaring. Small complaint though. I hope you find something you enjoy!

I read "The Dissolution Law" just a week or so ago from a snapeyluvshermy recommendation I think, and it was lovely. I really love miamadwyn's writing and the concepts she creates.

Thank you for reading and commenting!

I didn't know you even read fanfiction! Haha I have found that this is not a very popular pairing with people I know outside of the already established corner of fandom, but I hope you find something you like.

YES. Okay, so I always thought Severus + Hermione was kind of strange because of the age difference (AND LILY) but after reading the first one, I was like, "Oh, this isn't horrible."

And now, I'm like, "Wait, Hermione + Ron would be like Ron dating his MOM because Hermione is so much more mature than him!" and now EVERYTHING IS RUINED OMG. It's okay, this just means that my brain is more freed up to daydream about me + Ron. Or me + Harry.

MAN I LOVE FANFICTION IT'S LIKE RE-WRITING HARRY POTTER THE WAY I WANT IT TO BE.

Oh, and I have to share this so I can talk to someone about it: Vertigo.

Hermione awakens from a coma to be informed that all her memories of the past eight years have been but a vivid dream. In spite of overwhelming evidence to the contrary, Hermione clings on to the notion that magic is real and the hope that Ron might be out there somewhere. A chance encounter with a former enemy justifies her faith, but sometimes ignorance is easier than knowing the truth...I WANT THE WRITER TO BE FASTER BECAUSE OMG I WANT ( ... )

I usually don't even think about the age difference anymore, haha. Which is a little strange actually since I read so many stories that have Hermione still a student, when the difference would be even more important. I've always preferred my pairings to have Hermione, but at first it was Hermione/Sirius, then Hermione/Remus, then Hermione/Draco, before I discovered Hermione/Snape. I like them because they match intellectually and I think their personalities and positions in the wizarding world are interesting when put together ( ... )

Hi. I'm new to the community. Thanks so much for your rec list! I've recently gotten interested in this pairing. It was so odd at first, but now, the more I read....the more I enjoy it. I can't help it. I love Severus Snap! ;)

The caretaker was really good. I like the ones where it's in the future the most. I'm a sucker for all things 'snape lived through the final battle' the student/teacher ones still freak me out a bit. But, I might get over that eventually!

I definitely thought it was odd too when I first discovered it, but I have always been dissatisfied with Hermione/Ron, so I was happy to find something that worked better for me. I am opposite of you because I have a special fondness for student/teacher, as long as she's not like, in fourth year or something lol. But I like Snape survives stories also, it's interesting to see how different writers explore the effect surviving would have on his life and outlook. And I do like seeing them interact outside of the Hogwarts setting.

I do love ones where they are in hogwarts. That's the thing....I love them in the future, but....something about the castle setting really works for me. True, the stories where she is an older student aren't bad. Do you picture book snape (your own image) or do you picture movie snape?

I've always been dissatisfied with ron/hermione too. It never did much for me.

I am not entirely sure how I picture Snape, but definitely not movie Snape. I love love love Alan Rickman and his incredible voice, there is just something about him that does not quite work with my idea of Snape. I don't really imagine Hermione as the Emma Watson version either.

Hello! I found this on the hgxss comm and I'm really excited to read the stories on this list! I'm especially glad you rec'ed Heart over Mind -- I love that fic and I feel it does not always get the love it deserves. Really quick, I just wanted to share a couple of my faves which I hope you will enjoy if you have the time and/or inclination to check them out!

Somewhere I Have Never Travelled . . .
More than thirty years after a mass-killing curse devastated Hogwarts, a mature Hermione makes a life-threatening journey back to that time, hoping what she’s learned will save lives. Taking the alias "Gwen Hawking," she finds her mission further complicated by a passionate, conflicted relationship with a much younger man-Severus Snape-and the distrust of her eighteen-year-old self. (Pre-HBP; OOTP compliant.)

Objects of DesireAfter the war has ended the Dream Team return to Hogwarts to finish their NEWTS. They soon learn that there is more to real life than playing the hero, and that relationships come in varying shades of gray. -- The ( ... )

Oh hello, I hope you find something you like! I almost didn't bother to read "Heart over Mind", I'm not really sure why, but I'm very glad I did. It is so lovely and I like that it was written when there was still so much potential for the characters and the wizarding world, and when Dumbledore was still just a nice grandfatherly figure lol. I especially liked the midsummer festival descriptions, so magical, no pun intended :) I usually read stories with higher ratings, but HoM is an exception.

I have avoided time travel fics since I first got into fanfiction for some reason, there is something about them that just doesn't work for me. But these look very interesting and I am desperately in need of new things to read. Thank you for the recommendations!

I hope you find something you enjoy! I have a terribly difficult time finding stories that I love because I am so picky about so many little things and get easily irritated, so it will make me very happy if my list can help even one person who is like me.
