( there's a bit of a pause before anyone speaks. when the voice does start, though, it's pretty low. flat, almost, like the speaker is tired, and her voice sounds pretty rough and husky-- and distinctly australian. she sounds decidedly... detached from what's just happened, considering it's her first entry. )I remember, once when I was a kid. You're not dead, kid. Would mean the rest of us were, and I'm not ready to admit to that. Far as I know, we've been kidnapped by a nutter, but we're all alive and kickin'.

[That accent, though...] You from Gran Pulse?

( That actually makes her sit up - Fang's accent, that is, although she doesn't comment on it. )
So I hear. Can't say that kidnapping a whole lot of people really seems like a good way to promote the monarchy.

( Head... tilting, just a little, and she shakes her head. ) Wirrawee. Gran Pulse in the Northern Territory?

You'd think that, but who knows what that crazy woman's up to? Only thing I'm concerned with is getting out of here, soon as I can.

Wirrawee. Never heard of it. [She crouches down, studies Ellie more carefully, and grins, sharp.] More like south, little missy. [she points down.] Down under Cocoon, the world above. That's Gran Pulse. Don't suppose you know what any of that is, though.

All the same, the name's Fang. Chin up, kid. The company here's not much to call home over, but the scenery's at least not too shabby.

Could say the same about the Queen of England, to be fair. ( and then she speaks more clearly: ) It seems like most people are on the same page, there.

It's in Queensland. ( But her brow furrows. It's definitely weird, talking to adults again. The last time she had a conversation with one rather than being shot at seems like a long, long while. ) Cocoon. And Gran Pulse. ( Uhhhh. Well, she's thinking it over. ) The only 'world above' I can think of is the moon. This more of that... different worlds stuff? ( She says that like a teacher who's a little incredulous about an excuse for missing homework. So it was the dog, right? )

Fang. It's nice to hear someone with an accent from home. Even if we're not talking about the same home, I guess.
