Gosh, you're so small. [She shakes her head.] I don't want to risk you getting e--[MAYBE THAT ISN'T THE BEST CHOICE OF WORDS. she backtracks!!] er, caught by anything. I'll pick you up right now.

[Mami doesn't directly respond to that near-slip, but it isn't hard to guess what Utena almost stumbled into saying. The ears flatten once more, and she glances away. There's a pause before she speaks up again, voice still squeaky.] Can you find the place all right? It's in a meadow just behind Monsigny-san's apartments.

The Vine takes this as a cue to end the conversation, and Utena disappears from view. Not very long after, she arrives at the gazebo, a little out of breath. She searches the ground for Mami, being sure to step carefully. She doesn't want to crush her when she'd run all this way to rescue her.]
Mami-san! It's me, Utena. Where are you?

[Her voice remains a muted squeak, easy to miss unless one is listening. Mami moves into plain sight, dusting off her skirt, and repeats herself in a louder voice.]
