This is why I meddle and go to great lengths to learn things about people that they shield from view.

Most nosy people eventually learn that you don't really want to know what people are hiding. People only hide things that are embarrassing and heartbreaking. And even if learning something awful about someone you dislike usually supplies a smirk ( Read more... )

Great post. I've argued that we are hedonistic in nature, completely pleasure driven.

Even when we seek things that cause us phsyical pain or emotional pain, I think the arguements we make for doing such things give us a form of pleasure, whether self-righteousness, feeling valued, etc. All we are doing is seeking pleasure, it's just some of us acheive pleasure through justifications not commonly associated as such, and hence people somehow seperate individual actions from individual motivations. Crazy
