Wot I did with my weekend

So this weekend I bailed on Indiecon and went with w00hoo to my second lasertag game which was outdoors.

We could really consider this to be my first proper game as the last one I went to I got stuck in a room, shot as collateral damage and never fired a shot. It's the first of five games so in places I'm going to be a bit vague about stuff.

I have seen some really cute belts which would work well for LARPing over pocketless kit - but they only seem to come in spindly hippie one-size-fits-none...Can't find an image on the shop's website, but they're a set of pouches with snap-fastened flaps or zips, set onto a wide (maybe 4-5" wide, but cut with scalloping etc rather than a straight edge) belt backing, designed to wrap across the hips.

There's a couple of ideas here that I am tempted by, we are planning to make our own utility belts for sewing and I think there might need to be a tag belt to do guns and stuff and generic stuff that you gather

Women's clothes do need more pockets. It always amazes me that women in general have never figured this out to the extent that they demand it from the fashion industry (I mean OK, slinky dresses with pockets are never going to work, but pocketless trousers? It's like having a tea-pot with no spout!

Glad you had a good time, sounds fun.

P.S. Out in the woods (dark or light) is one of the only conceivable times I would envisage wearing (dark) brown or (dark) green preferred over black, although you can't go too far wrong with black!

Yes, this. Somehow combat resolution with real fake weapons in hand, adds a visceral touch missing in free-form systems.
