Have you READ the Odyssey? Not exactly a fortuitous name. Come to think of it, I don't think there's anyone in classical world I'd want to name my kid after! Not worth the risk, I mean, we've got screws his mom, eats his kids, pursued through life by vengeful gods. And that's just the men. If you were a woman, you got raped by Zeus (or at least by somebody). And if you managed to get away, the best you could hope for was to turn into a tree.

Heh! For the latter you could live in the Harry Potter world and for the former in the Battlestar Galactica world and then no one would find that odd at all!
