I took over 1000 photos in the week I spent in Luxor. The first 3 days were spent with my Ancient Egyptian Art & Architecture II professor, Dr. Selim Hasan. Then was a day of much needed rest (and lots of swimming in the hotel pool), followed by 3 more days of intensive traveling and visiting sites. Feeling kinda homesick
I've been in Egypt since August 23rd, and I absolutely love it here. The weather, the people, and most importantly, the history! Knowing I can take a 25 minute Metro ride and spend however long I want to in the Cairo Museum is awesome. I have, literally, forgotten how many times I've gone since I landed. Thanksgiving in the Park
Today is Thanksgiving, a holiday obviously not celebrated here in Egypt. This does not mean that we had school today, it's the American University in Cairo, celebrating Egyptian and American major holidays. Pictures from Saqqara and Giza
Here, as promised, the pictures from the trip today. We got to go into the Pyramid of Khafre, see Khufu's boat, stand between the paws of the Sphinx (closed to the public), and visit the Step Pyramid (and other tombs) at Saqqara. I'm tired, sandy, and loved every moment!
