(omg...shhh!!..holy holy holy shit.....my stalking prey just sent me a response on my lj....what do I do?...I am quivering with joy and yet...super aroused by his response..does that make me sick? ...am I just all twisted up inside from my obsessive love for him..I mean...really?..yes..yes I am....now it is official..he OBVIOUSLY wants to marry me.)

Speaking from the perspective of more than 20 years farther down the road …

There were dreams that I purposefully put aside in order to pick up another set of dreams. While there has never been regret for the choices made, there was a long time that I wondered how life might have been different if I had tried to live both lives. I knew they were not really compatible … that’s why I felt the need to choose … but I did wonder. Now … it really is just a shrug and an “ah well”.

I wish you peace … and joy in the life you live … and “Happy Birthday!”

I have a similar feeling about turning 38. It's neither here nor there. Not bad, but not the triumphant epiphany I'd hoped was sneaking toward me. ;-)
