Initially Ysandre had thought her recent ill health had been caused by the excessive heat as of late. Simon was one who kept to paths whenever he could, and the more firmly established, the better. He did not like to tread the dirt paths that criss-crossed the island, but when the only other option was tramping through the jungle-- well, that was not an option at all.

She struggled to raise herself into a sitting position, to regain some semblance of a dignified posture. "Messire, I..." She paused. "I am not sure what has just taken place."

Ysandre took a deep breath, attempting to get her bearings. "No," she said, shaking her head, which caused her to wince as the pain in her head became momentarily more pronounced. "It is very rare I am in ill health at all, much less something of this magnitude. Except in recent weeks..." She trailed off. "I had thought it was due to the heat." Her voice was somewhat weaker, and lacked its usual quiet commanding tone.
