Considering FB

I'm considering renewing my FB account. The last time I did FB, I had all kinds of people that had *very strange* pictures of themselves as their profile as friends. It is really difficult for me to turn down friends, so I never did. I had all kinds of cam people that I don't even know on my list

FB isn't too bad. You can manage most of that through some privacy settings - though I'm not sure how much I'd trust 'em.

Far as Friend Requests - I just hit the 'Ignore' button if I don't know the person. Or if I don't know them well. :)

I just ignore the friend request. And you can lock down your account pretty tight, so that people searching for you online only find that you have a Facebook account, but not a whole lot of what's on it.

There is always the option of sending someone a message...

...if you don't remember/know them, about why they sent the friends request; that should insulate you from spammers, and those people who 'friend all the friends of a friend' types.
