loonylolydarko: hell yeah I'm a bit heteronormative, if homosexuality was the fucking norm we wouldn't be having this issue, would we?

Also: Dan Radcliffe ♥_♥ He gets more awesome by the minute, I think.

I second the Daniel Radcliffe part. Well, and the other part too, but I already said that.

Holy fucking christ on a cracker, WHAT THE FUCK PLANET IS THAT PERSON FROM?! When they brought the issue of having kids into the argument, I was seriously tempted to step in and scream something at them. So, according to them, not only would any marriage I might have in the future be invalid because neither party would be male, but also because a)I'm asexual, and b)I can't stand kids in any form. FUCK THAT SHIT.

Seriously, I'm so pissed off at that person, I'm having an acid reflux flair-up. Fucking FUCK. Rage on. I'll be right here gnashing my teeth along with you.

I'm done with her, I'm not reading anymore of her replies because they're going to drive me insane. If she repeats herself one more time and I have to correct her for the millionth time I'm going to do this.

WHAT FUCKING STIGMA ABOUT MARRIAGE ARE THEY BABBLING ABOUT?? Society is obsessed with marriage! There is no stigma!

Also,

marriage
Origin: 1250-1300; ME mariage < OF, equiv. to mari(er) to marry + -age

procreation
Origin: 1530-40; < L prōcreātus, ptp. of prōcreāre to breed.

etymology
1. the derivation of a word.
2. an account of the history of a particular word or element of a word.
3. the study of historical linguistic change, esp. as manifested in individual words.

THERE'S NO "ETYMOLOGICAL" RELATIONSHIP. STOP ABUSING WORDS. [/angry inner linguist]

Also,

"gays can't procreate"

I didn't know being gay made you sterile! Queer as Folk has been lying to me! Also, bonus You're a Fucking Asshole points for the sentiment that adopted children are not REAL children of their adopted parents.

Also,

I love Dan Radcliffe extra today.

Rage the hell on.

I was too busy raging at everything else to even notice that.
I'm also adopted.

I lost count of the reasons to be furious at this person after I'd read about half a thread, but "adoption is not procreation" jumped out at me. :| They're ridiculous and they can't even see how hurtful and stupid their statements are. Argh.

I hate hate hate when people talk like adoption is somehow less worthy or something. I've dreamed of adopting a child since I was little. But my mom gets pissed at me when I say I want to adopt and never get pregnant. She says she wants grandchildren "of her own." Even disregarding how she apparently thinks she has some say in what I do with my body, I just hope she never says that in front of her stepdaughter or her stepdaughter's son. It would break their hearts to hear they're not really her family just because they share no blood ( ... )

There is a big etymological relationship between procreation and marriage, and just because you don't want to see it doesn't mean it isn't there.
I know lots of people who are married and don't have kids. I know lots of people who aren't married and have kids. I don't see your relationship because it isn't there.

...labeling everyone as prejudice gay-hater because they don't support gay marriage is an ignorant and judgmental thing to do.
But does it have an impact on your rights? It obviously doesn't, because you're still able to say that we shouldn't be able to marry, and I still can't marry in a lot of places.

...you can't honestly say that homosexuality is "the norm" - neither are curly hair, blue eyes or white skin.
Yeah, but I've never been told that I'm less than someone else for having white skin and blue eyes. And none of my family members have been for having curly hair either.

TL;DR: This arguement makes no sense to me on any level.
