Good on you though, I hope others who had your experience are taking the same time to do it. They likely need to hear it a couple times before it sinks in.

Yeah. I know that I couldn't have reasonably expected them to actually take me as a donor, knowing their history, but it was just ludicrous peeing in a gay bar's restroom stall and seeing this ad staring me down.
My guess is that the agency placing the restroom ads just randomly assigned this one to the bar.
When placing ads on the zoom network you get a much cheaper rate by just saying "put it in bars" rather than paying to select specific bars.
But even that being said bars aren't the best places to get donors if it is gay or not considering the activities that take place. Would have been more advertising buck for their dollar to go into restaurants.
That being said, when it comes to straight bars, Blood Services would happily take patrons who have unprotected sex nightly with a different person, as long as they are of the opposite sex.
