It's present-giving day! The pagan one that most people I know celebrate four days after the solstice and pretend has something to do with Christianity even though rather few of the people I know who celebrate it are actually Christian. What an interesting collection of presents!

I was hoping not to get any (or too many) large or heavy or fragile gifts since I have to carry them back across the Atlantic. I did get two 400 gr jars of Vegemite (actually, one for me and one for S) which I've left wrapped in the bubble wrap in which they were carried to London from Australia, as well as several bars of Cadbury chocolate adding up to at least a kilo if not more, plus two ceramic mugs. However, none of these things are too big, and my bag wasn't anywhere near the weight limit when I came over so I should be fine going back, and I'll carry the mugs in my carry on bag.

I'm glad what you got was convenient. Good luck surviving your New Year's Eve party!

That is a load of presents I would refuse to accept, but I am happy that they made you happy!

How many times in your life do you figure you've seen snow?

Probably twenty-five to thirty? But there've only been three times in my life (only two in which I was old enough to remember it) that it's fallen in the location where I actually live. The last one was in December 2013.

You can stop laughing or gaping or whatever you're doing now!
