I went running tonight. I had just come back from running on Sunday night when I found out about David Bowie's death. I took Monday and Tuesday off from it because I didn't get any sleep those nights (and also I always take at least one night off after a run anyway). Geez, sorry to hear that happened to ya. It is indeed wildly irresponsible to let dogs run loose, particularly if those dogs are of a bent to approach strangers, going after them in however friendly-ish or hostile a way, but extra-especially if it's hostile and they're not, like, chihuahuas or some kinda dog most folks could fend off easily. So those owners are boo bad guys to me too, twice thrice or quadrice(?) over. (frice?) (help me out here; you're editorial your own self.)

ugh, that's really scary; sorry it happened. your available running routes sound like a plethora of bad options. :(

I used to have similar difficulties walking to and from school, looking for paths that avoided unpleasant people and/or giant dogs freely patrolling the street. Hopefully you can find a tolerable route, or failing that, strike oil and buy a full-size running track for your backyard.
