I'm goint to guess, respectively "c" and "b", but that's because I have inside knowledge that [SPOILER] you're writing a paper on NMR. Whatever that is. :)

Otherwise, I'd guess that model-free formalism is just made up hokey, since it sounds like an oxymoron to me. Then again, for all I know, NMR is made up hokey. Chemistry is like Chinese to me. NMR. ICQ. FAQ. BVD.

I'll go with his answer. Although I would have to rephrase part of it to Chemistry at your level is like Chinese to me.

c and b respectively.

(i am taking an NMR class right now and a lot of the details are new to me. i haven't done anything more with nmr over than 1-H and 31-P NMR for structural determination. and even then i haven't done it much. i have come across all kinds of terms that make me think 'gosh, what would i have guessed if i didn't already know the context?')
