When I heard that an American cargo ship was hijacked by Somali pirates and subsequently retaken, I had a big "America - Fuck Yeah!" moment.

Although I hear the captain may still be held hostage.

According to Rachel Maddow, the pirates still have the captain.

Apparently the first time in 200+ years that a U.S. flagged vessel was hijacked by pirates. Not sure I believe that (maybe one that large), but I would say we set the proper tone.

I've never seen Team America, but I did share that moment.

I think this only counts navy and commercial/merchant marine vessels. Small, private American yachts get assaulted periodically. It's often, sadly, situations like retired couples on 'round-the-world vacations getting robbed or ransomed.
