The wedding last weekend reminded me how much I miss everybody, and how much I've been neglecting everyone by not having a regular means of keeping contact. I have some serious nasal congestion going on. When I exhale through my nose, deep in the recesses of my skull I hear a sound like a distant telephone ring.

When I was in Sunday School as a youngster, another kid told me that Jesus could whistle through his nose. I remember thinking that was pretty cool.

I'm not dead, just stuck in dial-up land. Right this second I am in New Haven visiting Sam. This week was my time off between the end of my research rotation and the start of classes. There was a recent post on Slashdot about body modification in the professional setting (IT). Lots of the message board discussion talked about being a mature professional, and that visible piercings or tattoos are inconsistent with a professional, mature appearance. It's interesting to read people's opinions on the matter.

The entire artifical hand industry in the Star Wars universe must be driven solely by Jedi knights fighting each other.

It's my birthday today. Sadly I need to spend most of my time in the library because we have quizzes tomorrow, but I have promised myself some quality Family Guy time in the evening, and there are a few cards to open. This afternoon I saw one of the biggest dogs in the world. I'm not exaggerating - according to the owner, this great dane is one inch short of the world record for tallest of that breed. It was huuuuge! His head came up to my chest (cue alazrael short man joke).

Nothing hits the ol' ego more than getting a driving license renewed. In addition to being a year older, if you looked at my photo you'd think I was in a bar fight last night, and I spent the morning drinking away my pain.
