Well, unfortunatly, there are certain people in our society *cough*HARDCORE LIBERALS*cough* who decided that 'one nation under god' was "politically incorrect"

Se la vi my friend...

I disagree. America was founded on freedom, the freedom to worship who what and where I want.

If I don't want my currency tainted with something I don't believe in, or swear upon an idol I don't worship then by fucking God you can't make me.

I could also easily say nobody cares if you want your God to be included in our government. It goes both ways.

I'm sorry your family is being a bunch of dicks though man. :/ It seems as if all my friends are going through hard times and I feel bad for them.

It's all good Rew...the family situation is what it is. Now I agree that you have every right to say that about my religion...but the thing is...it's already there...again I'm not saying you have to believe it...but that was just one custom of our country...and I dont think any damn foreigners or liberals should change it just because of that...that's like me coming to live in your house and making you not swear because it goes against my beliefs...see what I'm saying?

I know. And to be honest it doesn't really bother me, I could give a shit less. I do however, think that all things religious should be entirely removed from anything Government. A Government for the free people should not have anything to do with God, because not everyone believes in God. Some believe in Allah, or follow Buddism or Hinduism, whatever and I think if I was one of those people I'd feel alienated.

You do want unity.
But not a facist/communist unity.

But since that probably won't happen, fuck it.

Idk...I think Unity is a load of bull...honestly...you can't make everyone happy...even if we all invented a new religion to follow people still wouldn't be happy. Now I agree with you that the Government shouldn't be a part of religion, but only in a certain way. Like...the government really shouldn't base any decisions they make on a certain religion, BUT I don't think they should change what already is either...that brings us back to the Pledge and the coins and such. It is how it is...don't wanna say the Pledge then don't...but you dont have to make a big deal out of it. Like I said earlier...just deal with it...if we really wanted to we could bitch and complain about every little thing...then where would we be. People need to learn to be more tolerant. That's where my respect point comes in rather than unity. And I am a perfect example...I'm a foreigner...sure I grew up in church...but that didn't make me believe. I chose that on my own...and I mean...I don't have a problem with other religions, because I deal with them ( ... )

I understand where you are coming from, even though I don't have the same religious belief as you. Truthfully, I don't care whether we have the pledge of Allegiance or not, as long as people can choose whether to say it. Taking the "In God We Trust" off the coins is just stupid. Why change our currency over that? It's not like people sit and read what coins say anyway.. and if you do.. that's weird. Sure, it's more of the principle of the thing, but really, why bother to change a coin? But I also can see from the opposite point of view. At times, I do feel alienated in America because it is a basically christian country. It's a complicated issue you've raised here. Maybe some things need to change, but changing everything in our country so that it is not about god is just stupid. That would be just reversing the problem. Christians would be in the same position people of other religions are in right now.

I'm sorry you think your family sucks. I totally agree with you though.
