Oh, fuck you. This hurt so badly. I lost my best friend a year ago and it still feels like yesterday. You've got me sitting here, sobbing like an idiot. This was so beautiful and wonderfully well written.

She'd taught him better than to give up. She'd taught him to roll with the punches. She'd taught him to do whatever it takes to survive.

You have no idea what that did for me today. What I realized. I've always thought I should get another dog but it never felt right in my heart; always felt like I was betraying Penny. I think after reading this, I just might go out and get myself one... who needs me like Hannah needed Dean and visa versa. Thank you for this.

Awww, man, sorry about your dog. Been there, done that, couple of times. Didn't mean to make you cry. But I'm glad this got you to thinking about a new dog, who might someday be another best friend. Dogs are so worth it.

Okay, at first I thought, dachshund, weenie dog, this is sort of all a joke. Only it totally isn't, of course. It IS funny, and sweet, and affecting, and by the end of Hannah's tale I was really and truly verklempt. What a GREAT girl, with her bad-girl collar and her bad-boy daddy.

I really, REALLY enjoyed that. Now the question I got is this: What's Sam gonna get Dean for his next birthday?

i read this the first time around and just want to say that it's still really sweet, and of course dean would have a hound from hell, even if she is a wee weiner dog. i always think of dean as a dog person, maybe because dogs love you unconditionally and especially after sam left, he really needed to be loved like that. plus which, hannah helped him on hunts and helped him get the ladies - not that he needs help, i mean he IS dean winchester :> - and the image of her nipping at john until he rubs her belly is just priceless. (i offer jeffrey the footstool dog in hannah's honor, even tho he's a peke.)
