Visual Kei Nostalgia! VK of the 90's and 00's

Would this be a good panel for an anime convention?

How much history would be needed?

I am really more interested in an in-depth history of lolita OR visual kei instead of mindless fangirling.

Thoughts?
oh, also, anyone willing to help?

That would be a fantastic panel. I think a fair amount of history would be needed. I mean, you couldn't really do a somewhat thorough panel without mentioning older groups that heavily influenced late 90s and early 00s VK, you know? Ahhh to educate people on Matina and Key Party and such. I would go to that panel so hard (and probably raise my hand numerous times to comment on things that the person running the panel should have already been mentioning *LOL*).

It would probably be a good idea to focus on a handful of well-known bands but also touch on some lesser known bands that had some amount of popularity or influence and how they relate to groups that WERE hugely popular or ARE popular today.

AWESOME :3 It's one I want to throw into the panel review board next year for the con. I need to be more involved in the con panel-wise.

Do you know where it would be best to find information about it? I don't know where to start!

I have a bit of knowledge on the early VK scene courtesy of a friend :D Actually, I think last Acen she did a similar panel. She was the one who did Rock n Lol. I didn't get to go because it was so early in the morning.

I've always found Japanese sources to be the best at giving consistent info, so if you need any help with that I can put my rusty, minimal nihongo skills to the test. The most obvious source I can think of off the top of my head is Japanese Wikipedia. At least it's a start.

Oh ah... um... I don't know really. It depends kinda on what exactly you want to talk about. Like, if you had an outline of general topics and then more specific topics I could probably be of more help. But mostly stuff like that is stuff that I personally just know. There are some sites that are good to fill in the blanks and whatnot, but they're all bookmarked on my old computer that I don't currently have. I guess just figure out what you want to touch on and then research each thing individually if you don't already know enough about it?

THIS IS AN AWESOME IDEA FOR A PANEL

I could totally help out with the Lolita history part. I did so much research for this one panel I did and only ever got to do it once. And um, my research ended up being biased toward VK, so that would mesh well with your idea. Someday I'd like to figure out how the early sweet lolita brands fit into it all, though.
