Travel is about the little things as much as the big ones. In a shower with a handheld showerhead, where on the body does that showerhead aim when you're not holding it? Our default is “on or just below your head, so you can wash your hair”. Here, in this apartment, if not more generally, it seems to be “on your midriff”. It works fine ( Read more... )

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm contemplating repurposing some of my bland lip balm, which is the closest to these that I've got.

I have to be super careful with my nasal passages because of the CPAP which is already quite drying. When travelling I use a combination of plain saline nose spray (available at any chemist) and a weird product from Nutrimetics, Nutri-Rich Oil, which is made from Apricot kernel oil, and works really really well as well as being less annoying scent and feel wise than vaseline or whatever (http://www.nutrimetics.com.au/portal/skincare/classic_care/1107.html). I just apply it to the surrounds of the nasal orifices - the bits that get sore when you have a cold and are using tissues too much. I use the spray for the internals.

YMMV. Obviously not that helpful at this point in your travels.

Actually... we fly again tomorrow, from Helsinki to Hamburg. The slow-ooze nosebleed from the long-haul flight is still going. (This is normal for me.)

I'm thinking about the saline nasal spray, but aware that the pure physical trauma of nasal spraying is one of the things that gives me nosebleeds usually.

Also, I remember that Nutrimetics stuff. Had some of it in a travel set 20+ years ago.I can see why you'd suggest it.
