I don't have much useful to say in the making it feel better department, I'm kinda dealing with a lot of that myself still. What I can offer though is some manner of get-together-ness. I've been trying to convince Llarian that we need to do Dim Sum sometime soon. Also he HAD been doing karaoke every other week for a while there, but we haven't gone since this summer. This needs to change. I'm going through karaoke withdrawl and it's not fun I tell you. So yeah. Dim Sum. Karaoke. I'm up for other social fun too. I need to make new friends and not succumb to being quite as Laura Ingalls Wilder as I can be, especially up here in Everett. Lemme know if you're game.
I feel ya, dogg. Seems South Seattle is either too sketch or too far for some peeps. So GOOD THING I BOUGHT A HOUSE HERE. >:D
Another Dim Sum sounds good, and appripo.
There's karaoke at Kate's Pub with an awesome DJ and infinite selection (Wallingford) on Wednesdays, I'm thinking of crashing on a regular basis, and I have only one friend there + a bunch of her friends who talk to each other across the table (but not verbally, with their iPhones! Virtual Insanity!)
You and Deeeelaaaaan should come and help me stop this technological tragedy.
He can be hard to wrangle, being the busy child that he is, but I'll see what I can do. We'd been going to Rickshaw (they do Karaoke EVERY NIGHT ZOMG!) on alternate Tuesdays.
I feel you on the too far awayness, though I never did get around to having a housewarming/welcome home party when I moved back here (*cough* 6 months ago now) and I'm hoping that when I DO have said soiree that I can weasel people out. I figure I'll do that after the current housemate exodus is over, and house sprucing is completed.
I vote a hearty YUSS! to Dim Sum, Karaoke, and other such antics. Ask Dylan, I cook like a fiend. I have an insatiable need to make fancy tasty goodness for friends. It's hard to lose in situations like that, if you ask me.
