Getting to be a moody tree-lord and quiz the PCs on their tree identification skills before answering their questions. Good RP!
Going in as Argent several times and RPing with Vesperans and the Rangers, sometimes pretty intensely. "There are times when something you desire is only inches away, and yet in your heart, it may as well be

Frank-a-Day is a campsite that I am still having a decent amount of trouble wrapping my head around, in terms of layout of mod spaces vs. town vs. NPC housing, etc. As to the cleaning, I was there for Cottington the previous weekend, and another group appeared to be moving in for the week as we were leaving the site, similar to the group that was there as we were leaving yesterday. I'm not even sure that they had a chance to clean up between things.
And yeah, I guess because my experiences with that site have been this past weekend, the Cottington weekend that featured a power/water outage (though that was mostly while people were asleep), and the first Cottington weekend that featured many powerless cabins, I am not so excited about the place? I like Woodstock better, but I guess it is more expensive, more hotly contested, and possibly still has issues with the main field and grass seeding...
I was also concerned, as we were leaving Cottington, about how the camp would reconcile a group moving in for the week with the upcoming Madrigal rental. Apparently the answer was -- not well.
I think the camp has some nice features, but overall I am not a huge fan of the place.
however, I will say, that I was just there last weekend for Cottington, and I was in some of the same cabins that Madrigal was using and had set up as elaborate roleplay spaces, like Rosie's, or the old Vespera temple, and those spaces looked about 50,000 times better this weekend than they had 5 days previously. I don't know if that was the camp, or the Madrigal staff, but having seen the state of those cabins last weekend, I was really impressed by how nice you made them look -- and by the Friday night setup in general.
The tavern space was dealt with by Mad Staff (read mostly Rosie) who spent nearly 3 hours cleaning those two buildings. They were filled with stuff, including 12 bunk beds that had to be moved out to use the space, and was absolutely filthy with dust and dirt. I don't know if they are being used as dirty work spaces or just left open to the elements though the week.
Many of the fixtures in the bath house near the tavern were not working, I had to plunge out the floor drain Saturday night as the room had turned into a shallow pond.
The big cabin used for NPC housing had no electricity. The table we wanted to use for our monster camp "hospitality table" needed to be scrubbed with bleach before use, it was horrid dirty.
We don't need to go into the Kitchen, do we? (Or rather the room with kitchen stuff in it, that was filthy and NOTHING worked.)
These challenges taxed members of the staff heavily. I'm glad a majority of folks had fun, but it was a rough weekend because of the camp.
When I saw them the previous weekend, they didn't seem as full of stuff? but they definitely seemed that they had no seen any maintenance for a long time and we being used as storage. I'm sorry you guys had to spend so much time cleaning them, however, the results were awesome, so that is much appreciated.
The plumbing was an issue the weekend before as well-- actually I thought it worked better this weekend, so I guess you were just solving all the problems!
I will say that the kitchen did seem clean when we were there, so I wonder if that was the result of the people who were staying there during the week.
Overall, that sounds like a huge amount of problems to overcome. My sympathies for having to deal with all that, but I think things went really well, considering.
HEMLOCK! I'm a F-ing moron! My climbing tree growing up was a Hemlock. I remember being so upset when my mom decided it needed to come down. It kinda took over the entire back yard.
Yeah...that definitely was tricky. There was more than once I had wished we had a grey druid along with us, but I think we handled the encounter as best we could. It was very cool to meet Lady Ash and to experience the dynamic between her and Yonder... and look forward to seeing where the Sovereign Court of Trees stuff goes!
i always have a blast with the ranger stuff. and while i feel like its hard to sometimes find my niche in it, i always, ALWAYS love the rp and mechanics. So thank you for a great encounter and rps.
