THE BASICS

Your name: Anjelica
Gender: Female, daddy-o.
Age: Eighteen until the end of June!

What's on your mind?: Reveling in the sense of freedom that comes with spring break! I have four days off from school and work, so I plan on completely ruining my routine and trying to look for something out of the ordinary to do.

MORE ABOUT YOU

Five positive adjectives: Classy, whimsical, witty, cheerful, adventurous.
Five negative adjectives: Awkward, depressive, restless, sarcastic, detached.

What's your best trait?: My imagination. I'm hardly ever bored since my mind's always working to conjure up something new, and I feel it sets me apart from other people. I'm able to find beauty in the mundane and laugh frequently because of it. It also makes me a bit of an oddball. I was always insecure about that about a kid, which is why I think I'm so confident and proud of it now. I've realized as I've grown up that my brain is just wired a little differently from everyone else's (but then, everyone's is!).
And your worst?: My sensitivity. I get attached to people and especially animals too easily. I give everyone the benefit of the doubt and truly believe that there is good in everyone. My compassion gets the better of me sometimes, and I'm easily saddened when someone else is hurt. I don't even have to know them. I come off as aloof most of the time, but internally I'm just this emotional beast. What seems like little things to others could set me off in hysterics. It's kind of ridiculous.

Dreams & Ambitions: To own a little cottage on a mountainside with a garden and a few dogs. To climb a mountain. To write songs and perform them in front of people. To learn harp and ukulele. To build a bat house. To love as much as I can. To pet a giraffe. To direct a movie. To be fearless. And I'd be pretty content with space travel.
Likes & Hobbies: Writing, playing piano, daydreaming, drawing, exploring, personifying inanimate objects, photography, listening to music (and singing along, very loudly), collecting things (giraffe statues, overalls, striped shirts, and hats), bicycling, listening to people, playing video games, being nocturnal, human rights, laughing.
Dislikes: Anger, violence, any sort of discrimination, closed-mindedness, drugs, Keanu Reeves, ignorance, and routine. I get so stir-crazy when I have a schedule, it's not even funny.

Anything else?: I'm an INFP (Introverted, iNtuitive, Feeling, Perceiving) and I feel it describes me extremely well. This is a lazy way to go about describing myself, but if you click here there's a little personality chart that sums things up nicely.

As for occupational stuff, I'm a freshman in college studying literature and film as well as a part-time employee at the local movie theater. My tasks there include getting sassed by the elderly, threading film into projectors so quickly I almost have a heart attack, and fighting the stuffed animal vending machine day in and day out.

YOUR FAVORITES

Season: This question is a little tricky for me since Florida's seasons are simply "Hot" and "Hotter." Winter is a relief from the heat compared to the others, but I'll go with spring. Witnessing the rebirth of nature makes me feel like I have a fresh start too; it's really inspiring. Plus the weather is usually either sunny and breezy or dark and stormy, both of which I love.
Places: The beach at night; this one particular tree branch in the local park (you can see the whole park and it's wide enough so that you can sit comfortably and read a book or something); Brooklyn, New York; roof tops; my bed.
Colors: Lime green<3, red, purple, black, tangerine, aqua.
Music: Radiohead, The Decemberists, The Flaming Lips, The Kinks, Joanna Newsom, John Lennon, Led Zeppelin, Modest Mouse, Animal Collective, Sufjan Stevens, Fleet Foxes, King Crimson, Pixies, Queen, The Postal Service, Sigur Rós.
Films: Excluding Tarantino films: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, The Royal Tenenbaums, The Darjeeling Limited, Spirited Away, Howl's Moving Castle, Pan's Labyrinth, Fight Club, Lost in Translation, Garden State, Once, Amélie, The Princess Bride, Rushmore, Disney's Alice in Wonderland, A Serious Man, The Rocky Horror Picture Show.
Books: Alice's Adventures in Wonderland & Through the Looking Glass, Harry Potter, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, The Unbearable Lightness of Being, The Tibetan Book of the Dead, His Dark Materials, Into the Wild, The Road, Fantastic Mr. Fox, Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close, The Giving Tree, The Metamorphosis, The Catcher in the Rye.

THIS OR THAT

Introverted or extroverted: Though I am extroverted on the outside, I'm an introvert at heart. I relish in time spent alone with music blaring. My favorite social interactions are with one to three close friends. Any more and I become an anxious mess and stop talking completely; it makes me feel cramped, like I can't be myself.
Optimistic or pessimistic: Optimistic. I'm such an idealist, it's ridiculous.
Impulsive or cautious: Impulsive most of the time, cautious about the stuff that matters. I hate routine and try to avoid it as much as I can, so planning things isn't really my cup of tea. But I wouldn't throw someone off a roof or anything.
Mature or immature: Mature, though I'm a firm believer in silliness. I'm a child at heart, so it's not possible for me to be serious all the time.
Leader or follower: Reluctant leader, reluctant follower. I'm more of a loner, really - I lead and follow myself.
Lover or fighter: Lover all the way. I have fight in me, but it would take a lot for me to show it.
Faith or fact: Faith, because with faith comes lots of journeying and questions. Fact is too linear.

QUENTIN QUESTIONS

Your favorite Tarantino film: Pulp Fiction, followed very closely by Kill Bill. Pulp Fiction's very close to my heart - when I was 12, my dad and I watched it for the first time. And then watched it again once a week for the rest of the year. It's safe to say that I never tire of it, even after watching it twice in one day.
Your least favorite Tarantino film: Tough, but I haven't seen Jackie Brown yet (I know, bad mod) so I'd love to just cheat and say that!
Your favorite Tarantino character: Jules Winnfield and Mia Wallace, followed closely by Lance, Bill, Gogo Yubari, Vincent Vega, Beatrix Kiddo, O-Ren Ishii, and Hans Landa.
Your favorite quote from a Tarantino film: The whole dialogue between Vincent, Lance, and his wife Jody in Pulp Fiction. Mia lies on the verge of death by overdose, and they're all three screaming at each other while trying to save her life. It makes me hysterically laugh every time, especially when Lance finally shouts "I DON'T KNOW! STOP BOTHERING ME!"

SPECIAL

Same gender stamp, opposite gender stamp, or both?: Both if no one minds!
Is there any character you feel is nothing like you?: Butch Coolidge. He's cool and all, but much too serious. And though I admire Elle Driver for her eloquence and overall badassery, she's too catty and ..well, corrupt to be like me.
Anything else we ought to know?: Thank you all for voting and being active in general! I'm glad the community's off to a good start. <33
