So I was keeping this thing not because I thought anyone needed to read it, but because there are a lot of friends I have here on LJ, from back in the day at college, and we're all so scattered now that it was nice to hear from them when they updated. The good deal is, all my college friends who have LJs are already on facebook. (Them and more ( Read more... )

For us technically challenged, how does the openID thing work? I'm just curious. And a tech tard.

The slightly more complicated version, I found in a post here. I'd been thinking about doing it for awhile but I was too scared that it was complicated. Turns out, it's not, I'm just lame.

All it does is let me keep the same id everywhere, without having to keep a million passwords and identities. I don't have a journal here now, but I have a friend's list that I keep as a little bookmark on my browser. So long as people have this id friended, I can still see all the f-locked stuff they post that way, and be all nibby! So when I log in here, I just need to be logged in at IJ too and it'll check with them and make sure I'm me, and I'm cool!

... I don't know if that makes sense. But... yes! Simplifying yay!

I must repair to my friends management thingmajig forthwith! I almost never check that thing, unless someone mentions they've friended/unfriended me . . .

Some days I think I might be totally oblivious to my own head catching fire in the event nobody feels obliged to point it out to me.

*waves hand frantically* But Kaaaaaaaaaatey! If you jump ship, where will I go for my future Gawain/Peredur goodness? Seriously! It's at least 35-40% of the reason I lurk around here at all anymore. I'm just that sad. >.>

Have a pleasant holiday weekend! Also, thank you for the best set up ever:

Yay undead gods! I don't know why Halloween is my favorite holiday-- it should really be Easter.

Sweet zombie Christ!

Yay zombie Christ! I hope yours was a good one, and you got your mini eggs (in spite of the annoying trip to the store.)

If you jump ship, where will I go for my future Gawain/Peredur goodness?

Interesting you should mention that! I was JUST considering, as I was messing with my other LJs (particularly that one, since I'm not... you know... even close to being done), moving it over to my IJ. I have all my projects tagged there, so... yes!

Of course, that'd mean to see it you'd need either an IJ or to log into IJ with your LJ id like... I'm doing now. Hmmm...

Then again, maybe I'll just leave it here and use this one.

Well, whatever you decide to do with that, let me know! Provided creating an IJ account isn't some ghastly process that involves givening them your blood-type, SSN, and possibly a kidney, I would very probably be willing to make the transition to keep up with the Arthurian joy.

I second on the OpenID thing - on my other journal, I never actually friended anyone because the point of the whole thing was that all the posts were public, so there didn't seem to be a point....

edit - NM I think I figured it out.

Yeah the only point of friending is to see all the f-locked entries OR just to have the friends posts all in one convenient place (since I'm lazy.) So now I can do it, but not worry about this stupid journal anymore! Yay!

If you want to you can read the IJ (I don't f-lock everything!), but it'd be kinda like how I hop over to your blog and check it out every week to see what I'm missing. And my IJ is boring ass. But not that this one was so exciting.

Man I think I can use this ID on your blog too... that's awesome!

Ok, I don't have to join the IJ to read your entries then? I added it to my bookmarks. :P Hope I can still comment and stuff...

Nope! The only stuff I F-lock there is the boring ass writing stuff, and I mean like plotting, character crap, research, and other shit everyone but me skims anyhow (since I use its tags as a way to organize my notes). If you really wanted to see it, you could just log in with your LJ id and friend me, but it's... yeah. The height of lame.

It takes anon comments though, and happily!
