Look how good I do!

Sticking with a resolution for a whole two days in a row.

Clear masking isolates the horses' legs from the water, allowing me to scrub out highlights.  The texture work on the horses is done with a toothbrush.. *spatter spatter*.. and a sponge.  In person it looks rather like a bird egg, which I like.  It needs more darks, though.. By order of importance - good grief, a tray!? You ARE sick. I sure as hell hope you didn't work today, nor plan on doing anything more strenuous than talk about Olin tonight and tomorrow. Remember, I am not so far away that I can't show up and be totally threatening.

Thinking about the opium scene, all written in that wonderful, lush first person of yours, gives me a warm, fizzy, happy feeling; and as the horses need to thoroughly dry for a bit anyway (Claybord has a surface which is literally clay.. it gets a wee bit soft when wet, and won't accept pencil until it's completely dried and hardened again), and so I will sketch either Erestor or Olin. Mmmmm. <3 You know what? I could sketch either of them in a tree. Best of everything ( ... )

I haven't met very many ponies, but they do seem wonderful - have you ever known any Welsh Cobs? They sound fantastic.

Here is a photo of a woman riding a Shetland Pony over a wee bitty cross-country course.. the pony is owned by the same woman that breeds the Welshes I just mentioned; the 'micro-steeds' are what she bought for pleasure riding.

Compliments on my painting will be nibbled up and dunked in my coffee and in general make me very very happy. I think the horses are a bit dull just right now, but I'm working on it.

RIGHT NOW, however, I am reading Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell and thinking about opium. ... that isn't a statement that should be taken out of context, is it?
