confused

Sometimes I wish I could find a political candidate that is closer to my beliefs on the issues. I don't think that'll happen anytime soon.

I believe the government should keep its hands off of consenting adults. Marriage in whatever form between adults should be allowed. As far the government is concerned, marriage should be contractual law, not moral obligation.

I believe that abortion is immoral in most circumstances. The time for birth control is before sex, not after. I do make exceptions in extreme medical cases. I am undecided on cases of incest and rape.

I believe that the US should be expanding it's energy base including tapping into previously untapped oil fields. I think that this should be done very carefully and with as little disturbance to the land as possible, including all infrastructure required.

I believe that we should admit that most foriegn policy, including wars, are economically driven, not morally driven.

I believe that church and state should be separated including in the schools and in the military.

I believe that the second amendment protects a citizen's right to bear arms IN AN ORGANIZED MILITIA. I do not think that it gives the right to bear handguns as private citizen outside of a military structure, whether that structure is government sanctioned or not. I do not count hunting rifles in the same way that I count handguns.

So I need a fiscally conservative, socially liberal, pro-life, pro-marriage rights, pro gun-control candidate. Do you know anybody on the ticket like that? I haven't found them.
