So, should I replace the battery? Or maybe the alternator? Oh, I know! Maybe it's both! >.< The real fact being that it's going to cost me upwards of $250 and I have no money what so ever. I may be going without power very soon. And cable. And clean clothes.

It depends. Is the battery charging? You can take it to a place like AutoZone and they'll check the battery free of charge and that'll save you some hassle.
