miss parker is from the late 90s tv show 'the pretender' and i'm playing her over at
the_blank_slate.
1. What is your character's least favorite holiday or celebration?
valentine's day and christmas
2. For whom did your character buy birthday gifts last year? What did she get for them?
her father and possibly sydney. for her father, something professional, useful and expensive. for sydney, something she'd thought about but could brush off as being 'no big deal'.
3. Does your character believe in ghosts, the occult, aliens, or the supernatural? If so, why?
nothing of the kind. she believes in what's real and tangible and right in her face. she's not a scientist, but she believes strange occurrences always have an explanation, even if she can't see it right away.
5. Does your character believe in astrology, palmistry, tarot, or other methods of divination?
no way.
6. Has your character ever been to an astrologer, palmist, or other psychic? If so, what predictions were made for her? How does she feel about them, and have they come true?
not voluntarily. i think a few times in the series there were people she encountered who tried to tell her about that kind of thing, but she always blew them off.
7. How does your character feel about sex? What mores and morals does she apply to it?
she likes it a lot, as long as it doesn't interfere with work. she's straight and will pretty much sleep with any guy who peaks her interest, as long as he doesn't want a relationship and doesn't expect anything more than sex from her.
8. What sort of relationship did (or does) your character have with her parents?
well, there's a can of worms. she worshipped her mother, and now works for her father, who is possibly evil and possibly had a hand in her mother's death. she obviously wants his approval and affection, and loves and respects him very much, but it's clear he's not very attentive to her and is in no way above lying to her for whatever reason he deems necessary. she doesn't trust him and, at the point at which she enters TR, has just begun to realize she has to lie to him in order to find out the truth about what happened to her mother.
9. If someone asked your character what the most important rule to live by was, how would she answer?
do what you can to save your neck, and don't make alliances you can't be sure are worth it.
11. Has your character ever deliberately set out to emotionally hurt someone?
on a small scale, sure; she tosses around bitchy, cutting and hurtful remarks like they're confetti. but she hasn't gone on an emotional revenge kick. she'd rather just shoot people. XD
12. Describe one unconscious drive, ambition or goal your character possesses that she would never consciously admit to herself or to others.
ultimately she wants herself and jarod to be free to be together (not necessarily romantically but she certainly wouldn't say no) without the centre getting in the way.
15. Is there anyone your character despises?
in order: mr. raines, mr. lyle, brigitte, her father (though she also loves him dearly)
16. Is there anyone your character would die to protect?
not really, sadly. her father, angelo and broots come close, but she's very attached to her own skin. jarod is the only one she'd really actively protect, i think, simply because if he died her life would quite literally have no purpose.
17. What is the worst news your character has ever received? How did she handle it?
of her mother's suicide, and no. not at all.
18. Your character just received an envelope. Whatever it is, the idea of opening it fills her with dread. What is it? And what happens when she opens it?
*snort* anything from jarod pretty much does this to her, because it always has some tantalizing clue about her past that requires a wild goose chase complete with taunting phonecalls from jarod to get to the bottom of.
19. How does your character feel about her government?
could take it or leave it.
20. Does your character care about politics? How vehemently, and what are her views?
not really. centre politics are the only ones that concern her.
21. Is there any political issue that could motivate your character to violence?
no.
22. List five things that could motivate your character to use violence.
a) mr. raines
b) mr. lyle
c) she feels like it
d and e) same as c
23. List three things that could motivate your character to kill.
a) mr. raines
b) someone threatens sydney/broots/jarod/her father/anyone she gives a shit about
24. List several phrases your character is fond of uttering. Where did she pick them up?
she doesn't really repeat phrases so much as say the most sarcastic thing she can think of in a given situation.
25. How does your character feel about romantic relationships?
she thinks they're for people who don't have careers. she doesn't think they're really stupid or anything, but she would never be in one b/c it would detract from her job.
26. What is your character's romantic history?
a lot of flings and one night stands.
27. What is the best romantic relationship your character has ever had?
none really. jarod is the closest thing to a relationship in her life, and that's just mutual sexual tension and being in love with each other.
29. If your character hasn't yet settled down with someone, what could motivate her to do so? If she has, what could motivate her to change her mind again?
if everyone controlling the centre were dead and she could be with jarod without having to worry about that shit ever again.
30. If your character has a romantic partner, would that person ever cheat on her?
she doesn't, but no one would, if he wanted to keep his balls attached at least.
31. Would your character ever cheat on a romantic partner?
if someone mattered enough to rate having the title of 'partner' as opposed to 'friend with benefits', then no, likely not.
Describe the circumstances under which your character might cheat on her partner.
extreme emotional attachment. if she was with someone, probably not even the influence of alcohol would merit cheating, because she isnt' the type to be "with" someone if there's someone else she wants more.
