1. Who is your character's confidant?
At this stage of the game and at this stage in canon, Silvia doesn’t have one. Once she goes through canon it will be Keller, mostly because he (or, rather, the Secret Service, of which he is part) has probed deep enough into her past to make concealing things impossible. In bar, she hasn’t met anyone in who she can confide, and it will probably stay that way until after canon.
2. Is your character married? Does he have a lover, significant other, girlfriend, boyfriend?
Silvia is single. Single, single, single. She used to be the lover of Ajene Xola, a revolutionary/political figure in the country of Matobo, but, as she revealed in canon, her skin became a problem.
3. Whom does your character live with?
Nobody.
4. If you were to use the speed dial function on your character's telephone, who would answer?
Silvia doesn’t have a cell phone. Security reasons.
5. How does your character feel about his co-workers? What are they like?
She loves her coworkers! She thinks they’re all nice, down to earth, and that they believe in the U.N. enough to work there is a big plus in her book. To describe them? Um. Just imagine a bunch of language geeks (and a sound tech geek) thrown into a professional setting and you have…Silvia’s coworkers.
6. To whom did your character give birthday presents last year, and what did she give them?
She gives her friends books, clothing or artifacts according to their interests, personalities and needs. She also tends to send notebooks to her brother on his birthday.
7. What did your character receive for her last birthday?
Books and a vase for flowers!
8. What is your character's favorite holiday?
Most likely a made-up holiday from the made-up country of Matobo that I will have to make up in my head some day.
9. What is your character's least favorite holiday?
Again, probably something to do with Matobo.
10. How close is your character to her friends? How well do they know her?
Nobody really knows her and nobody's really close to her.
11. What is your character's darkest secret? Who else knows about it?
That she used to fight with guns rather than words, and that she killed a boy point-blank in the head when he was trying to kill her. She stopped fighting that day and left Africa with nothing. That secret has never left Africa…thus far.
12. Does your character have any siblings? What sort of relationship does she have with them?
She has a brother named Simon, and their relationship is painfully complex. They were very, very close as children and grew even closer when their parents and younger sister died in a land mine accident. Simon promised he would take care of her, and she promised the same for him. They did things together after that: they fought a revolution together, wielding guns to make people listen. But the cost of revolution rose too high for Silvia to take, and she left with her brother’s angry accusations in her ears. He disowned her. She was dead to him. But Silvia still loves Simon dearly and can’t help but speak fondly of him after all these years of separation.
13. What is your character's favorite hangout?
She likes to hang out at cafes, though she never sticks to just one.
14. Where does your character feel most safe?
The U.N.
15. Is your character a "regular" anywhere? What do the other people there think of her?
Milliways Bar. It's hard to say what people think of her, though Patrick Bateman (
yuppie_trash) seems to like stalking her.
16. If your character went to a zoo and didn't have time to see everything, which animals would she look at?
Any animal that reminds her of Africa.
17. When your character goes shopping, which stores does she frequent?
Book stores, music stores (where you can buy instruments and sheet music), the florist, clothing stores.
18. What is your character's financial situation? How does she feel about it?
Well enough for her to live comfortably in a nice li'l flat in New York City with cable and an iBook and a flute and a motor bike! She likes living comfortably, oh yes.
19. What hobbies did your character have once, but has since given up on?
Soccer. Not enough space in New York to do that, at least not to her.
20. Has your character ever been fired from a job? If so, why?
...not yet...
21. Has your character ever quit a job? If so, why?
Does quitting a revolution count?
