You have brought up some very good points. And raised some very interesting questions. We in Canada are like our Aussie borthers. We are stron allies of the USA. Canada is a leader in telecommunications. Not much is said about it, but we have more stuff up in space circling the world, watching what goes on that could ever be told here.

Why is this happening to Oz? That is the big question. One, I don't have the answer to. You back them (USA) but they may not be able to back you.

All I can say mate, it's the time we live in. It sucks, but it's all we have. Terrorism is amounst us. Not matter what the free coutnries of the world do, terrorism will always be here in one form or another.

You are right Dave...
I honestly think the USA is worried about the increasing popularity in the region, a popularity terrorist and rouge states are enjoying due to slack policing and security. I agree it's a great idea to tighten up security here, and Australia seems to be the ideal location to setup a mini-superpower required to keep these wackos at bay. But WHY nuclear? Shouldnt we be moving away from Weapons of Mass destruction?

I mean both leaders are responsible god fearing folk who want nothing more than world peace

That may be true of your leader, but it does not appear to be true of Bush :-( The only thing Bush seems to want is total control of the planet. It's his way or the wrong way. Not even sure the President is afraid of God either LOL

I may not agree with Bush's die-hard attitude in respect to jumping in head-first, but I have to admire his "strength" and "determination" to get the job done. I sometimes think it's not what he does that is a problem, it's the way he goes about it.

I just hope he has the welfare of our planet in mind also.
