He pulled out two bottles of water, a bag of chips and a large brownie tossing them in front of Mia before grabbing both sandwiches and shifting so he was sitting up strait behind her. He reached around her with one hand offering her the sandwich.
"I went to the sub place you like near the youth center. Turkey and swiss with the works plus pickles, and honey mustard sauce."

When she pulled back, Mia moved so they were facing each other giving him a small smile. "Best boyfriend ever. What'd you get?"

She swallowed hard, chest tightening. "No...it's about other stuff." She gazed up at him, "stuff I'm not ready to talk about just yet."

"That's okay, I'm here whenever you're ready to tell me." He leaned in and placed a kiss against the side of her head before going back to eating his sandwich.

Several minutes later she was tossing her garbage into the basket before glancing at Ian, eyebrow raised. "What now?"

"I mean you know you're always welcome, I just...you told me you weren't comfortable with it. Is it because it wouldn't be just us?" He asked softly.

"Honestly? I tend to sleep better when you're around. I don't have as many nightmares when you're there...so I thought since I've been having a lot lately...maybe having an excuse to be at your place would help."
She knew it sounded strange especially considering what her nightmares where about, but she trusted Ian. He was her age and he never made her feel like he was trying to control her.
He listened and helped and comforted her without asking for anything in return and being there with him, it made her feel safe.

He shifted, and let out a small sigh. "Do you think he'd let you?"

She sucked in a sharp breath. Ian was the first guy she'd ever been comfortable being this close to. He was her choice. Everything that happened between them was on her terms and it made it so much easier for her to trust him.

Mia tilted her head lifting it up slightly as one of her hands cupped his cheek. "You're one of the nicest guys I've ever met...and trust me that list isn't very long." She leaned in and pressed her lips against his.
