Ian ran his hand down Mia's arm grinning down on her while she told him about something that happened in her last period that day. They were sitting in his apartment on the couch, a movie playing on TV in the background, her head leaning back against his lap. They finished dinner a little over a half hour ago and they had several hours to kill

Mia snorted, "I took it and tossed it out the window," she grinned while playing with his hand that was resting on her stomach. "How was your day?" she asked lightly.

Ian sighed, tapping his fingers on her stomach, "It was pretty good. I'm just very glad school's over and there's no more robo baby."

Grinning at the thought of a good nights sleep he turned the hand he had resting on her stomach over before continuing, "But you know something interesting did happen."

Mia arched an eyebrow while threading their fingers together, "Oh?" she asked tone curious.

Ian nodded, "Yeah. I was packing up the things in my locker and coach approached me."

Pausing he ran his thumb gently over her hand. He loved the way her skin felt against his.

"Anyway, he is thinking about making me captain of the team next year. It's not a certain thing but it's definitely interesting."

Mia sucked in a long breath, "The talk was...intense, but it went really well," she said quietly before shaking her head.

"No, Chloe was making her way back from Smallville today and I came here right after work, so I didn't see her. I'm not ready to talk to her yet anyway. I'm still angry with her."

Running a hand through her hair he listened intensely. While he didn't know why she was angry at Chloe and Oliver he did know that it affected her in a bad way. She didn't look happy half the time, she wasn't sleeping well, when she slept at all, and she barely mentioned them unless someone else brought them up.

"I'm glad you and Oliver are getting on again but don't think it won't make things easier if you tried talking to Chloe. She has to have her reasons for whatever happened, right?"

Mia's jaw clenched, body tensing slightly as she caught Ian's gaze. "I know you're only trying to help, but let's drop it okay?" She gave him a small smile, her hand running up and down his arm lightly.

"Let's just enjoy the night. Why don't you tell me more about this trip you want to take," she said softly.

Feeling her body tense over his legs he nodded and granted her subject change, "Well I was just thinking we should get out of here for a while. See what else this state has to offer. We can go anywhere you like."

Running a hand through her hair he continued, "And imagine all those hours that we'll have to spend researching together."

Mia smirked at him as she leaned up pressing a light kiss on his lips before resting her head back on his legs.

"I think that sounds like a really great idea...even though things are good with Oliver again, I think a break from everything around here would be nice and maybe put some things in perspective." she said quietly and gave him a one armed shrug.

"A couple of weeks, you, me the California coast...it could be a really nice trip for both of us." She said the expression on her face softening.

"But before any of that you need to get Oliver's ok," Ian said with a sigh, "Though I'm sure he'll say yes. He'll probably want us to have separate rooms but what he doesn't know won't hurt him."

"Though I think this break could be a very good thing. Especially since I'll get to spend my days with you," Ian said with a wide smile.

Mia's expression softened, "I don't know what he'll say...but I'll tell him how important I think this is for me and hopefully he'll be okay with it."

She let out a small breath trailing her fingers over his wrist. "And I agree spending my days with you will definitely be a plus," she said quietly a small grin slipping onto her lips.

"I think he trusts you enough and he'll threaten the hell out of me but in the end I'm sure he'll see that you need this."

Grabbing her wrist he pulled her up so that her forehead was resting on his before saying, "You know what? We were too busy talking that the movie finished without us even noticing. Why don't you go and put something else on?"

Mia smiled wrapping her arms around his neck and pressing a kiss against his lips, before unwinding them and pushing herself off the couch.

She sent a glance over her shoulder and arched her eyebrow at him as she bent down by the TV. "What are you in the mood for? Action, Romantic Comedy, Horror?" she asked lightly before turning back to the movies.

She liked spending time at Ian's place. She was relaxed here, calm. It was nice.

Ian sighed and leaned back into the couch. He liked it when Mia was around. It made the place feel less empty and it was a nice feeling, knowing that she liked to be there too. Of course it was better when she spent the night but he was beginning to grow accustom to only having her there for short periods of time.

Smiling at her he shrugged his shoulders, "You pick. I'm happy with whatever."

Mia nodded pulling out a movie and popping it in before moving back to the couch. She climbed up next to him shifting towards his body as she spoke. "I went with comedy, I thought we could use a laugh."

She ran a hand up his chest nudging him slightly so she could lean against his side to watch the movie.

Raising his arm he slide it across her shoulders before pulling her into his side completely. He loved the way that she seemed to fit perfectly there.

Pressing play with remote he said, "Comedy's good. Plus I love your laugh."
