I was thinking recently about the overarching story God has been unfolding for us. I realized that I often lose sight of it's scope. In the day-to-day business I lose track of the outcome, what happens beyond the end of the age. I really like that you just said all that. Lately, I've been grieving my human-ness. Feeling so utterly flawed and hopelessly corrupt...absolutely at the mercy of my Creator, and even the fleshly evil that haunts my dust. And I've been re-reading some of my favorite CS Lewis...Perelandra and Till We Have Faces. It all seems to tie in...the corruption of the human soul by sin, and the great victory that is foretold in the end. It has often been of great woe to me to find, by increments, that all the restoring that God has done in me is miniscule compared to what He wants me to become. And yet, is that not just a testament to what a grandiose recompense He is weaving? To think that every single human must be sifted as such...and that's only on the individual level ( ... )
