BRAINSTORM TIME!!

Brainstorm time: How might we invent or figure out solutions to make people's lives easier?

Reason/Background/Story etc: You all may or may not know that I want to be a successful entrepreneur one day. While bioplastics is still something that I consider extremely important, let's face it, the research is still in its infancy, and I'm not going to ( Read more... )

Automatic waste classifier... as in something that recognizes waste and decides where it should go, and drops it down the right shoot... organic goes here (and does the compost thing automatically too), glass goes here, aluminum goes here, plastic here, and so on... so we throw everything together, but not. And it would be great if it neutralized smell, and it would be great if it warned us when it's full enough to take out, or compost good enough to use, or something...

7. Finding a permanent cure for motion sickness

8. something that tells us what we are good at and love so that we don't waste time in college finding out (or later in life)

9. produce/dairy/food expiration date/rotten state notifier imbedded in the fridge (would input info)

10. Notifier on freezer when things become freezer burned.

11. easy way to train cats to poop and pee in the toilet and then flush

12. wool clothes that never shrink

13. clothes that NEVER shrink in general or are stretched and lose shape in laundry washer and dryer

14. all in one coupon aggregator that tells you what is on sale where and how much etc etc (need to expand on this idea)

Not too good at coming up with new ideas like this. XD

1. Easy-carry rain-boots (like that are collapsible, similar to those itty bitty umbrellas in size, but that you can get out of your purse and slip on) that are both practical and pretty

2. Something to prevent shoes (children's especially) from being torn apart at the toes. Usually replacing sneakers isn't because of actual size change but because of worn out toes (and heels, also). A stronger shoe material, or maybe something that could be put on them to enhance durability? IDEK.

3. A way to block people from television - not fast-forwarding or blocking programs, but a way to input actual faces and then if the person appears in commercials they'll be blocked - or if they appear in a movie/show the tv guide will warn you like "Soandso appears in this episode of Whateveryouwatch, are you sure you want to watch this?". LOL I LIKE AVOIDING CERTAIN PEOPLE. >____ ( ... )

These are really great ideas, Liz! Thank you :)

Also, I know it's not exactly what you want, but http://www.ewg.org/skindeep/ talks about how safe and environmentally friendly your cosmetic products are :D

1. Beakers with super reinforced bottoms so they don't break when you fill them with too much fluid (I'M SORRY I JUST BROKE A BEAKER IT'S ON MY MIND)

2. Shrinkable/expandable magnetic stir bars so you don't need to buy 5 of each size

3. Beakers with a built in thermometer so you can tell what temperature the solution is without having to turn off the stir bar for fear of breaking the thermometer

4. Shrinkable/expandable three ring binders to save space

...I'll probably think of more later

Um, well I guess the bottom of the flask had worn thin and I filled it with water to wash it out and when I lifted it the bottom basically fell out.

It wasn't pretty.

I WANT EXPANDABLE STIR BARS SO BAD YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW. I ALSO JUST DROPPED OUR SMALL STIR BAR DOWN THE DRAIN (YES I'M A WRECK TODAY SHUT UP).
