Blackout 2012: SOPA and PIPA Strike

In support of the movement against PIPA and SOPA, I will be going on strike on for 12 hours (8am EST to 8pm EST) and abstain from all activity involving the internet.

I'm going to run away from anything internety other than checking my uni email for course announcements. I need to quit obsessively checking my own email anw :3

Thank you Nadia! You don't know how much this means to me! It's like the people that ARE addicted to the internet should be the most passionate about this movement.

I keep thinking that no Internet = no computer. Just like no LJ = no Internet. Addicted much? Also knowing my country, it's likely that something similar to SOPA/PIPA will be instated here if the US government does so. Half of my social life is on the Internet. I'm not giving that up.

I'll probably be fiddling around in PS, watching some movies for literature, and finishing Neuromancer (also for literature) :3

Don't worry, that crossed my mind at some point this morning too! Shows how much we depend on the internet for fun and freedom of speech. It just scares me so much that our icons and gifs would be banned...because we capped them from the movies. This piracy thing extends past downloading and into still images. Isn't that crazy?

What about AIM? My hubby wouldn't get home until after the blackout ends, and around 4PM EST is when I talk to one of my friends online. I kinda need some human interaction. lol Other than that, you can count me in.

I'm not going to limit you to anything you are not comfortable with :) I'm personally going to abstain from video-camming with Jen. She understands, but omg, it's going to be so hard! I'll be texting all my HiH friends and Jen all day!!!

People are tweaking it to suit their needs. I'm just glad you are!!! ♥

I can't text anyone, sadly. All my friends live in the states, and international texts would cost me an arm and a leg. LOL

The problem with my work stuff is that it is FUN lol :( I have to be online to do some game testing so it isn't going to be bad at all. But ah well, my computer will be off and the wifi disconnected from my phone :o
